Costumes in Enamel

This collection explores traditional cloisonné enamel techniques re-imagined in an innovative and contemporary way more suited to the aesthetic standards of our modern society.

The Chinese cloisonné pattern comes from traditional decorative painting and was used as a typical pattern for the royal robes of the ancient Chinese Emperors. Inspired by historic costumes and fascinated by the flow of fabrics brought to life by the wearer, the graduations of light and shadow on different textures and the combination of layers. Enamel is a perfect medium to illustrate these abundant colours and textures.

The flat pattern on the enamel becomes more vivid by transposing it into three dimensions, creating an overlapping or rhythmic effect in tune with the pace and style of contemporary living. This collection explores a contemporary application of enamel that references the traditional cloisonné technique, embracing both modern and classical beauty.
